Speedy was found paralyzed and got second chance because of Jane Sconberrg's determination that he would find a home...Jane sent him to physical Therapy where they realized he would need a wheelchair and a special home that understood what kind of care he needs. Adopting a pet is a decision that should be made carefully. Adopting a special needs pet will require even more commitment and responsibility from his owner. Speedy is a seven pound mixed breed dog. His back legs are permanently paralyzed. He is basically urine and bowel incontinent. His bladder does not completely empty which can result in urinary tract infections if not regularly expressed. He can move with amazingly speed even without his wheelchair, so he must always be in a safe environment, away from open doors, stairs, and other hazzards.He is getting used to his wheelchair and enjoys the freedom it gives him to interact and go outdoors. Speedy is a very friendly fellow that loves everyone, dogs, and cats. Sometimes it an be overwhelming so interactions need to always be monitored. He loves to play with his toys, and to cuddle up on the sofa and snooze. He sleeps in a crate at night and very rarely has accidents. There is a lot of personality and love of life packed into this little dog!Although Speedy will need more of your time and attention because of his special needs, he is more than ready to repay someone with his limitless love and devotion.
